An English news source, Reuters, points out that public transportation levels in the United States are higher than they’ve been in over fifty years. It’s not hard to figure out why. You’re aware every time you climb into your car and groan when you realize it’s once again time to go fill up…at over $4 per gallon. Ouch.

Or maybe not. Perhaps you are part of the trend sweeping the nation of people choosing public transportation over driving their own cars. It might not be what you’re used to, but it’s certainly less detrimental to your wallet and other spending habits.

According to the United States Energy Information Agency, 2008 is expected to be the first year our country will exhibit a decline in the demand of gasoline since 1991. Wouldn’t it be nice to get in on that? To be able to say you are part of the country’s movement to conserve energy and to be able to save hundreds of dollars along the way.

From it you can walk to the Davis Purple Line CTA Station or the Evanston Davis Street Metra Station. You can choose how much you want to pay to get from place to place. It’s nice having the option. Isn’t it?
