Custer’s Last Stand!
Thursday, June 19th, 2008
This 35-year-old fest is making it’s way back to Evanston this weekend. The Custer Street Fair is a culmination of 350 artists and craftspeople who come from across the nation to sell paintings, ceramics, jewelry, antiques, and much, much more. They are joined by 150 businesses and commercial exhibitors who partake in a traditional sidewalk sale.
If arts and crafts aren’t your thing, over 30 food vendors will be there to give you a scrumptious variety of international foods that you do not want to miss!
If you still need convincing, the live entertainment should help sway you. The stages will feature some of Chicagoland’s jazz legends, the Native American Dance Troupe, the Rich Maisel & Terre Cohen Orchestra and plenty more incredibly talented acts. So come on out on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 between 10am and 9pm to the Custer Fair, and spend the day appreciating the arts with your family and friends.

Calling all green thumbs:
Looking for something to do on a spring evening but not willing to spend much? Come out for “Car Fun on 21″ this Wednesday, June 18th. Located on Church Street between Milwaukee and Brainerd, admire cars from all decades, inside and out - for free. If you have a car you’re proud of, old or new, come and show her off. Just be ready to answer questions in the nature of “how fast does she go?”.
Anyone living in the Libertyville area this summer is in store for one of the best festivals around. Here at the Gammonley Group we are big supporters of local festivals and community building events, especially ones that have such an extensive list of activities and contests. We highly encourage all of our Liberty Grove home owners to check out this festival out. Some of the attractions include the carnival, car show, parade, food, Idol Contests, arts and craft shows, dance performances, baking and cooking contests and even fencing instructions. The festival will run from June 12th through the 15th in downtown Libertyville.
You and your dog are invited to the sixth annual “Woofstock” celebration at Pooch Park. Pooch Park is a dog recreation area for residents of Evanston and Skokie. There will be dog acts, demonstrations, music, food, exhibits and family/dog activities and contests. “Woofstock” starts on Sunday, June 1st at 11:00am and will span the afternoon until 3:00pm. The event will be held at the Pooch Park section of Channelside Park, 3220 W. Oakton St., Skokie (between Main and Oakton Sts., east bank of the North Shore Channel). So come out and meet some new people, meet some new pets and most importantly enjoy the summer air with mans best friend. Note: all dogs must be on leash during this event.
