Living at Liberty Grove means no more mowing the lawn, shoveling snow or raking leaves.

In this enclave of exclusive homes, a staff cares for all residences and grounds.

Northbrook-based Ferris Homes will construct 18 single-family homes and 30 townhouses at Liberty Grove on 14 acres of land just north of Buckley Road (Route 137) on Milwaukee Avenue (Route 21) in Libertyville.

The community is adjacent to Independence Grove, a forest preserve of more than 1,000 acres overlooking a 115-acre lake.

Ferris Homes recently opened single-family and townhouse models, furnished and decorated by Susan Ferris.

The Aspen is a two-story single-family home with many upgrades and showcases a traditional decor with earth tones.

The Spruce, a three-level townhouse, has a stylish, contemporary interior with a black-and-white color scheme.

“The Aspen has been very well received,” said Nancy Remiker, sales manager for Liberty Grove. “People say it’s calm and serene - not overdone.”

The townhouse model also has received strong reviews.

“People love it,” Remiker said. “We’ve been very busy since the model opened and have taken several deposits.”

Single-family homes feature 9-foot first-floor ceilings, wood- burning fireplace, full basement, security system and two-car garage with some walkout and English basements.

The Aspen, with 2,492 square feet and priced from $633,900, offers three bedrooms including a first-floor master suite and 2 1/2 baths.

The study features plum walls, box bay windows, crown molding and a pocket door between the study and great room.

An oversized fireplace with granite hearth and surround takes center stage in the great room. A sofa and chair in front of the fireplace provides an intimate conversation area, while tan walls and a tray ceiling add interest.

The room opens to the formal dining room with plum and tan walls and a glass-topped table for four.

The kitchen features ceramic tile flooring, custom molding and tan walls with white trim. The room also showcases several high-end products such as Zodiac countertops by DuPont, Harbormist finished cabinets with glass doors, Viking appliances and a stainless steel undermount sink.

The breakfast area overlooks the patio.
